P.I.M.P나 In da club 보다 먼저 만났던 50 cent의 노래가 바로 이 곡 21 questions이다. 예전엔 몰랐는데 가사가 참 좋다! 진실한 사랑의 고백이 느껴진다고 해야하려나. 중간에 나오듯이(Are you mad 'cause I'm asking you 21 questions?) 이런 질문을 하는 것이 사랑한다는 말보다 훨씬 어렵지 않을까. 상대방이 싫어할지도 모른다는 생각때문에라도. 물론 최선은 이런 질문도, 그에 따른 대답도 필요 없을만큼 서로를 믿고 사랑하는 것이겠지만서도.

50 cent가 앨범을 내게 되면 항상 발목을 잡는게 바로 이 앨범이다. Get Rich or die tryin'. 좋은 앨범을 데뷔할 때 뽑아냈다고 항상 욕먹는 것은 조금 안타까운 일이다. 그만큼 기대치가 높은 거니까 물론 좌절할 필요는 없을 것 같고. 난 그 스타일이 참 좋아서 언제나 그의 노래가 좋다. 

(사실 관계가 조금 다를 수 있습니다만은 다른데서 찾아서 쓰지는 않겠습니다. 틀린 부분 있으면 댓글로 지적해주세요!) 버거킹에서 일하던 커티스를 에미넴이 발견해낸 것은 잘 알려진 사실이다. 그와 더불어 앨범 제작 중 '저 망할 백인이 나를 구원해주는구나'하고 에미넴 몰래 말하다 그에게 발각된 것도. 50cent답고, 에미넴 답다. 오, 나중에 에미넴 노래도 꼭 써야겠다.

네이트 독이 죽었구나. shake that 에서도 참 좋았는데. 중후한 목소리로 랩과 노래의 중간정도 쯤 되는 음악을 뱉는게 참 매력적이었다. 한번 찾아서 들어봐야겠다.
